Today I’m spinning Mordechai by Khruangbin, and shaking up a French 75 style cocktail inspired by the album’s opening track “First Class”. Dreamy and weightless, this song needed a light and bubbly cocktail pairing, one that mentally puts you in the nicest section of the plane during the “Catch Me If You Can” era of airline travel ✈️ It offers delightfully floral citrus notes 🍊intermingled with ripe peach 🍑 basil 🌿 and a hint of anise — and it is the absolute height (altitude?) of luxury.
Recipe
▪️1.5 oz Satsuma Mandarin Vodka (@drinkcathead)
▪️1 oz Lemon
▪️¾ oz Peach Basil Syrup (@farmersjamatl)
▪️2-3 dashes Absinthe
▪️Top with Dry Sparkling Wine
▪️Garnish: Basil Leaf & Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
Add all ingredients except sparkling wine to shaker filled with ice. Shake 8-10 seconds. Strain into coupe. Add a couple pinches of fresh cracked black pepper and top with a basil leaf.

On August 12, 2024, Farmers Jam partnered with Adam aka @soundtrackmydrink as well as Victrola Record Players and Cathead Distillery for National Vinyl Record Day.
