We’ve had another extremely busy week here at Farmers Jam. We were so excited to purchase 50 cases of local, organic strawberries – and then came the reality of processing literally thousands of strawberries by hand. But hey, at least it was from the comfort of Leaven Kitchen instead of at my house! My wife and I are thrilled with the upgrade.
We didn’t make it out of the kitchen much before 10pm on Tuesday or Wednesday, but it was totally worth it to support local farmers and produce high quality, hand-crafted jars of Farmers Jam. Each one of those jars sold will help us raise money for our annual fruit tree giveaway, so we can re-invest in the farmers we believe in. That’s what it’s all about.
Now, I want to let you in on a secret. At the upcoming Farmers Jam Summer Smash, we’ll not only release our first batch of Strawberry Lemonade Farmers Jam, but we’re also debuting a new product with our friends at Georgia Routes: a cocktail syrup.
The Farmers Jam Cocktail Syrup will be available to everyone who attends the Farmers Jam Summer Smash next Thursday, June 23 under the mulberry trees at the Heck House. We’ll not only prepare drinks using our brand new mixer, we’ll also have bottles available for purchase.
Of course, as subscribers, we’ll also give you a chance to buy them online – assuming we don’t sell out! But your best chance to try it is by purchasing a ticket to our upcoming event.
As usual, we’ll have live music performances by the one and only Farmers Jam Band, as well as local food by Pam’s Magic Cauldron. She just called me and let me know she’ll serve Korean BBQ Chicken and Korean BBQ Mushroom sandwiches. I’m hungry just thinking about it!
The drinks are once again provided by our great friends at Cathead Distillery. They’ve been a supporter of Farmers Jam for over a year now, and helped us raise a big chunk of money for our fruit tree fund. We’re very grateful for their support.
