We back!

We back!

What, did you think we forgot about you?! Oh absolutely not! It’s been a little over a month since we last reached out, and we’ve missed our weekly correspondence dearly.

As you might have noticed from our past social media activity, when we go quiet for a while it’s because we’re working on something big. Previously, it’s been things like a new event, a new flavor of jam, and last year, a whole new line of business – Farmers Jam Cocktail Syrup.

Well, this time it’s been a bit of everything, but it can pretty much be summed up simply: scaling up is a huge challenge that requires a lot of focus and attention.

This time last year, I attended my introductory Start:ME Business Accelerator class which would completely change the trajectory of Farmers Jam. To truly make the impact we want to have in the world, we needed the tools and strategy to match our big dreams.

Having spent much of the last two years learning about business, meeting our customers, testing new flavors, and earning certifications, we finally feel ready to make the leap – no matter what it takes.

We’re transitioning from buying a few pounds of berries at the end of a Farmers Market to buying pallets full of thousands of pounds; from producing a few bottles of syrup to hundreds of bottles; from selling directly to loyal supporters like yourself to speaking with wholesale distributors who sell across the Southeast.

In the last few weeks, we’ve realized the enormity of these tasks and learned a few hard lessons. As always, we will not be deterred.

With all that said, I’d love to get back into writing to you every week, and I’ll do my best to make it happen. But if it doesn’t, just know that we’re putting all of our energy into growing our business so that we can serve small farmers and our customers as best as we possibly can.
