This is what 500 lbs of strawberries looks like

It’s an exciting time of year because Farmers Jam is back in full swing. In just a couple of weeks, we’ll host our first event of the year – the Farmers Jam Summer Smash. It’s on Thursday, June 23 at Heck.House and tickets are on sale now.

The Farmers Jam Band, Atlanta’s favorite band of local farmers, will hit the stage once again. They’ll be joined by Cam Christian, performing hit songs from his debut studio album PALMETTO, and Raven Richards.

We’ll also chat with DeKalb County Commissioner Ted Terry for our first live podcast recording. He’s done some great work in urban agriculture with our friends at Roots Down and Thyme to Party, so we look forward to learning more.

But here’s the really big news: We’re also debuting a new product at the Farmers Jam Summer Smash! We’re really excited about it and can’t wait to share more. Just know that those of you who come to the event will be the first people to try it.

Now, let’s get to that photo. Yes, we’ve purchased 500+ pounds of local, organic strawberries – enough to take up just about every square inch of my car! This purchase is thanks to the grant we received from Start:ME, and will help us create more jars than ever before. There’s still time to pre-order your jars, so head over to our web store and order yours today.

In regards to Farmers Jam Radio, we’re taking a bit of a break. We’ve booked a lot of time in the kitchen over the next few weeks and will be fully focused on making jam ahead of the Farmers Jam Summer Smash. We’ll send a note when Farmers Jam Radio is back on air.
